Do I need any prior experience to join a pottery class?
Not at all! Anyone can create with clay, regardless of prior experience.
What age groups are the classes suitable for?
My classes are open to all ages, but for wheel throwing specifically, I recommend ages 8 and up. Younger children are welcome to hand-build or simply join in to watch and be part of the experience, depending on the class environment.
How do I sign up for classes?

What should I wear?
Wear comfortable clothing that you don't mind getting dirty. If you'd like to keep your clothes clean, aprons are available for use during the class.
Should I cut my fingernails before class?
Yes, long fingernails can make it difficult to throw on the pottery wheel.
Do I need to bring anything extra?
You don't need to bring anything extra. However, feel free to bring your own tools if you prefer, and it's always a good idea to bring something to keep you hydrated during the class.
Do you host birthday parties or private group lessons?
Yes, I do! Please reach out to me via phone or email if you'd like to bring a party of 9 or more.
What is your cancellation and refund policy?
Please notify me at least 48 hours in advance of your scheduled class to cancel or reschedule. Unfortunately, no refunds will be provided for late notices.
What happens if my piece gets damaged during firing?
While I take every precaution to ensure your piece is safe during firing, sometimes accidents happen. If your piece gets damaged, we can discuss options to remake it or provide other solutions.
When can I expect my finished work of art?
You can expect your finished work of art within 2-4 weeks. The exact timing may vary depending on the kiln firing schedule, so it could be sooner or later than expected.
Can I glaze my own work?
Absolutely! You can come back and glaze your own piece when it is ready for an additional charge (cost of glaze included).
Are the finished pieces food safe?
Yes, the finished pieces are food, dishwasher, and microwave safe.
What type of clay do you use and how do you fire it?
I use Laguna B-Mix 5 WC401, which is stoneware, and I fire it to cone 6.
Will there be weekly classes in the future?
Yes, there will be weekly classes in the future, along with raku and handbuilding classes.
